Comprehension depends, in part, on noticing punctuation to ensure text has appropriate meaning. This booklet encourages students to practice punctuation without the demands of text. Several pages of the booklet are illustrated with the twenty-six letters of the alphabet with various punctuation marks. The remaining pages are illustrated with numbers to 20 with punctuation marks. It may also be used to practice letter-naming fluency and number recognition. This activity is aligned to the Language Standard: Conventions, and the Reading Foundational Skill: Print Concepts.
